THE PARTY: More than 800 people helped celebrate the packed-house launch of CS Interiors magazine THE PLAYERS: Some of Chicago’s top designers, including Hughes N’Cho-Allépot, Patrizio Fradiani, Cindy Galvin, Michael Koehler and Matt Lorenz, mingled with design junkies of all stripes THE VENUE: Heffernan Morgan/Chicago transformed the MCA Warehouse into a stunning labyrinth of separate spaces and imaginative vignettes with furniture and accessories loaned by stand-out design sources, including Accento Italia, Atelier Lapchi, Baker, Bloomingdale’s, Community Home Supply, Neidermaier, Poliform, Raul Carrasco and the Tile Gallery, among others THE DECOR:

Highlights include the upholstered bar; the art lounge with works from Francine Turk and Kasia Kay Art Gallery; the immaculate Chinese wedding bed from Golden Triangle; the $60,000 Buddha statue from Primitive; the showpiece installation with toilets from Studio 41 and a ethereal Tresor light fixture made by Terzani exclusively for Lightology hanging dramatically above THE FOOD: Between

four different rooms of plentiful food stations and a swarm of passed treats, guests sampled a menu of Wolfgang Puck favorites, from Ripe Olive and Caper tapenade to tuna tartare in sesame miso cones THE PARTY FAVORS: Guests received a Passport to the Design World, which was sponsored by Porsche, with special stamps to the city’s premier designer showrooms, retail stores and real estate developments


THE PARTY: The Chicago debut of Pieces of Ourselves, the sculptural furniture and limited-edition series by artist and designer Kathy Taslitz THE VENUE: A tribute to Taslitz’s themes of nature and purity, the Wright Gallery was outfitted in organic, wintry whites—a perfect backdrop for the 14 sculptural pieces made of blackened bronze, polished nickel and macassar ebony THE FOOD: Catered by Greg Christian Catering and Events, the hors d’oeuvres included carnival squash beef tenderloin rolled with cranberry cream, organic pizza with cremini mushrooms and vidalia onions, and sautéed shrimp with tequila buck squash THE PARTY FAVOR: Each lucky guest was given Taslitz's book, Pieces of Ourselves, and Wright catalogues, famous for being visually stunning


THE PARTY: The Merchandise Mart’s Market Square throws their second annual ‘Crave’ party to showcase the must-have goods behind their 2008 catalogue of the same name THE PLAYERS: More than 600 home retailers and designers gathered to get a sneak peak at the season's latest home trends THE VENUE: The guests roamed the 15th floor spanning 200,000 Square feet and 35 home-design showrooms, including Bob Williams + Mitchell Gold, Global Views and Jardin de Ville. Overlooking the Chicago River, the designer lounge/library was the social epicenter of the event, with hiphop music by DJ Madrid, blueberry Martinis and hors d'oeuvres from Mambo Grill (pulled-pork cups and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with chorizo and parmesan among them)
