Born and raised in Lilburn, Moore played high school sports alongside future MLB player Jeff Francoeur, before an injury prevented him from going pro. But it didn’t stop him for a minute. Plans thwarted, the ambitious UGA grad set his sights on a career in music, landed in Nashville, ventured into songwriting and performed with then up-and-comers Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown Band and Luke Bryan. Then he really got cooking (literally), preparing meals post-shows. The next obvious step: He published a cookbook, Have Her Over for Dinner: A Gentleman’s Guide to Classic, Simple Meals . Its uncomplicated premise—chicks dig dudes who cook—earned a following.
