Founded by world-renowned choreographer Lar Lubovitch and critically acclaimed dancer Jay Franke, this week of curated dance works is also championed by our favorite dance-loving mayor, Rahm Emanuel. CDF pairs local favorites (Hubbard Street, Joffrey Ballet) with some of the best dancers around the country for an entertaining look at what’s happening in the world of dance today. New this year, dancers from Ballet Arizona and Pacific Northwest Ballet, plus two world premieres commissioned by CDF: a work by New York-based choreographer Larry Keigwin featuring more than 50 Chicago-area non-dancers and a work by Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman danced by Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, also making its CDF debut. culture
