Sept. 6-9 Ala Moana Center once again kicks off The Fall Fashion Event with Fashion’s Night Out, a global celebration of style, fashion and shopping, on Sept. 6 from 5–9pm. The four day event will also include special in-store events, savings and discounts, a center-wide gift with purchase, a sweepstakes, and a weekend of fashion shows at Centerstage. Sept. 15, 30 An annual tradition since 1953, the Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest gives parents an opportunity to show off their healthy keiki and help promote health and nutrition. Each year, hundreds of toddlers compete for the title of Oahu’s healthiest baby. Five winners are awarded a U.S. savings bond, ranging from $2,500 to $500, as well as numerous toys and prizes from Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai‘i. Contestants will compete in a preliminary round; then finalists move on to the final round on Sept. 30 at Centerstage. Daily The Ala Moana Hula Show takes place at Centerstage from 1 to 1:20pm. The complimentary cultural performance features an emcee and six dancers, showcasing kahiko and modern hula dances. Choreographed by Hawai‘i natives, the show is exclusively for Ala Moana Center. Oct. 12-14 Enjoy special store savings at participating merchants during this three-day Sidewalk Sale . Oct. 13-14 Ala Moana Center and General Growth Properties, in partnership with DonorsChoose.org, are proud to showcase student performances to Celebrate Schools! (noon-5pm), and help fund classroom projects in the community. Ala Moana Center will help to fund school projects on DonorsChoose.org, and there will also be an opportunity for shoppers to register their local schools to win a $20,000 award. Every Saturday From 8am to noon, the Farmers Market features about 50 farmers and local vendors, selling everything from fresh produce to prepared foods. The weekly market with live music is located at the upper-level parking lot (near Sears). The band was founded by King Kamehameha III and is the only band in the country with a royal legacy. Its mission is to share songs of the islands with both residents and visitors.
