The sky, the streets, the people, even the trees are different from anywhere else,” he says. “I’m out of town a lot, but I try to be here as much as I can.” After much shuttling around the world for his back-to-back Transformers franchise, Bay got to do just that while directing his last fi lm, Pain & Gain , which was shot right here last summer. Those extra months in the sun gave him plenty of time to discover new places and get reacquainted with old favorites. In honor of our Restaurant Issue, we asked the blockbuster auteur to let us in on his favorite spots for sustenance... and a cocktail or two. –SRR High Steaks I know this is “very Miami,” but for great beef, I love Prime 112 (112 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, 305.532.8112).
