Getting Crafty Buggy and Sean OʼGrady Susan White and Debbie Hulick THE PARTY “We were thrilled to celebrate our 30th anniversary with so many of our generous supporters in attendance!” says Susan White, ACE 2014 co-chair. e preview party launched the three-day craft show with more than 800 guests at the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion, and helped raise more than $240,000 for ovarian cancer research at NorthShore University HealthSystem. THE PEOPLE Supporters were treated to gourmet appetizers, as well as desserts and craft cocktails. While they mingled, they got a sneak peek at handcrafted gold jewelry and accessories like crocodile-leather coin purses. Of course, the best part of a preview party is the chance to buy pieces from the artists before the show begins, and guests took full advantage of the chance to shop. BEST IN SHOW e weekend featured over 160 artists, more than 40 new this year, with a Craft in Action stage showcasing ceramic and woodworking demonstrations. Style lovers enjoyed the ACE Runway, which put together fashion, jewelry and accessories from the show’s artists. Shopping for a good cause— always a winning weekend!
