The firm has offices in Atlanta and Savannah. The partners in the firm have successfully tried and handled cases across the country. Since the law firm’s inception in 2006, it has had an impressive string of courtroom victories and professional awards. Most recently, the firm obtained a $40 million verdict in the case of Jessica Mundy v. Ford Motor Company and Legacy Ford. In Mundy, the Dekalb County jury found that a defective transmission caused a 2004 Ford Explorer to shift into reverse after Ms. Mundy shifted into what she believed was park. The vehicle trapped Ms. Mundy under the front tire when she tried to stop it. Ms. Mundy was permanently paralyzed as a result. “Not only did the jury return a just verdict for Ms. Mundy,” stated partner Jeff Harris “but we were very proud of the fact that because of the trial and the investigation into the defect, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration opened an investigation into park to reverse complaints in Ford Explorers.” “Hopefully, we can keep Ms. Mundy’s tragedy from happening to anyone else,” stated partner Steve Lowry. In addition to the Mundy case, Harris Penn & Lowry have obtained several significant verdicts. In 2006, the case of Hamby v. DaimlerChrysler resulted in a $4.5 million verdict for the death of 2 year old Madison Hamby. In 2007, the case of Zakrocki v. Ford Motor Company resulted in a $10.6 million verdict in favor of Rebekah Zakrocki for injuries she suffered when her 1997 Ford Explorer rolled over on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey. In 2008, Wyckstandt v. Gwinnett Medical Center resulted in a $5 million verdict for the death of Wendy Wyckstandt a 32 year old mother.
