When it came time to propose nearly eight years later, Ryan invited Courtney to what he said was a work function at The Crescent Club. There, he popped the question with a bottle of Champagne and his great-grandmother’s ring. THE DETAILS As she walked down the aisle at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Courtney was a vision in a lace Amsale dress and blush pink Saint Laurent heels, which coordinated with the white, gray and light-pink color palette. The theme continued into the reception at the Bent Tree Country Club, where guests danced the night away to music by Downtown Fever. WHAT WE LEARNED Courtney advises future brides to enjoy their engagement. “You aren’t necessarily just planning a wedding; you’re getting your first home together ready. That was the most stressful thing for me. I just wanted to have our first home perfect after we got back from our honeymoon,” she says. “Enjoy being engaged and don’t stress about what’s going to happen afterward!” THE HONEYMOON The couple escaped to Harbor Island in the Bahamas, where Courtney and her family have been vacationing for 10 years. They wanted to choose a location they would be able to return to with their family someday. –Sabrina Abbas THE COUPLE Courtney West and Ryan Ross met during SIMPLE SURROUNDS From left: Branching Out Events created whimsical centerpieces that transformed the reception into opulent white-and-pink garden; Courtney wore a lace Amsale dress, purchased at Neiman Marcus, and blush Saint Laurent shoes, while Ryan donned a classic white tuxedo jacket from Culwell & Son.
