This eventually led to Carter, 28, developing a fondness for crafting his own unique concoctions. Now he’s recognized as one of ATL’s best behind the bar.

When asked what made him decide on Atlanta, Carter says, “Diversity and hospitality. I’ve seen and received nothing but good vibes and times here.”

To avoid “muddied drinks,” Carter’s cocktails are typically limited to no more than five ingredients, but still deliver inventiveness with every sip. “There is a beauty to simplicity,” he says, as evidenced by his flavorsome Comfortably Numb (which won the People’s Choice Award at the High Museum’s recent Highball competition). The name pays homage to one of his favorite bands, Pink Floyd; it also might foretell an imbiber’s reaction after downing a couple of them!
