ThE coupLE The bride, an attorney in Dallas, and the groom, a supply chain analyst, met during a blind date set up by Sherman’s co-worker. ThE dETAiLS The big day featured rich purples, silvers, light blues and gardenias—the bride’s late mother’s favorite flower. Sherman chose a Melissa Sweet frock from Priscilla of Boston, with hair and makeup by Haute Facade. They tied the knot in the Warwick’s outdoor courtyard. ThE pArTY Guests kept busy dancing the night away, as did the newlyweds. Sherman changed into a frilly cocktail number but kept her purple Badgley Mischka peep toes. –Amber Bell

The couple The bride, who runs her local boutique planning company, Hitched Events, coordinated her owns nuptials to information technology/finance guru Rhodes. The deTails At the time, the pair was living in New York and wanted to infuse the Big Apple into their Big D wedding—the art galleries were a perfect match. The parTy Marc Events created various food stations for dinner, including an Asian salad station served in mini Chinese takeout containers. For favors, the newlyweds gifted guests with fresh, hot mini donuts by The Snack Box. –AB

The propoSal The groom, a medical school student, had tried twice to propose but his plans had been duped. At last, he told his bride (a student teacher) if she could crack the code to the safe where the ring was kept, he would pop the question! She broke it soon after. The deTailS Shuffield donned a Priscilla of Boston gown and veil from the Dallas boutique, as well as a French Connection dress for the reception. The parTy The Grand’s in-house restaurant, Rick’s Chophouse, catered dinner and Austin-based band Blind Date cranked out party-worthy tunes. –AB

The ProPosal Paddling down the Na Pali Coast in Hawaii, Godinez owner of a surf/kayak company, popped the question to his bride-to-be (they first met on a semi-blind date in Kauai!). The DeTaIls The bride glowed in cap-sleeve gown by Christos from The Bridal Salon at Stanley Korshak and a cathedral-length veil. The ParTY With a subtle peacock-theme, the jeweltoned affair —coordinated by DFW Events—boasted views of White Rock Lake, lighting by Beyond and florals by The Wildflower. The Dallas String Quartet played “All You Need is Love” as the newlyweds returned up the aisle. –Rachel Watkins

Stonebridge United Methodist Church Grand Hotel & Ballroom, McKinney

The couple Mutual friends brought this pair together at Texas Christian University, where a two-year friendship turned into a beautiful romance. The deTails The bride glided down the aisle in a strapless dress by Marisa from Colleyville boutique Brides and Beaux. Her “something old” was a bracelet worn by her great-grandmother. The scene The elegant reception at the Grand Hotel was awash in a gold, ivory and pink color scheme. Guests mingled and enjoyed the cookie bar before the couple shared a memorable last dance. The couple The groom is a University of Texas grad and avid Longhorn while the bride is a dedicated Aggie from Texas A&M. Post-wedding, they relocated to the Sooner State! The deTails Lane chose her big day gown from Terry Costa bridal salon, and had it pressed and bustled by Elizabeth’s Bridal. Her hair and makeup was by Alexandria Dixon. The parTy The Bulletproof Brass Band shook up the scene, which was bedecked in an organic green-and-white color scheme, and the couple departed in a ride from VIP Limousine. –AB

The couPle It was a workplace romance for the pair, who met on the job—at Galvan’s parents’ company no less! The deTails Every bit the fairytale princess, the bride donned a lavish gown, veil and tiara by St. Pucchi at Stardust Celebrations. The scene The whimsy of Alice in Wonderland inspired the magical reception at the Four Seasons, where Donnie Brown Weddings & Events created a fantasy vibe. Ethereal mood lighting shifted from misty gray to dusk orange and midnight blue as Hunter Sullivan and his band delivered dreamy tunes. –RW
