scene San Francisco Weddings Erin rains & TylEr KurTz No v e m b e r 1 9 , 2 0 10 Br azi l R o o m The Couple Tyler loves sports, and Erin, a former UCLA lacrosse player, caught his eye wearing her team sweatshirt. He asked her out the next day and hasn’t looked at another girl since. The Venue The couple celebrated in the Brazil Room (just up the hill from Erin’s house in Berkeley), a rustic and cozy setting with exposed beams, a stone fireplace and spectacular views. The DeTaIls Old world maps added to the antiquated feel, and a poetry store doled out instant verses. The paRTy The wedding party exchanged tearful, heartfelt toasts at dinner. “Tyler, you are perfect because my daughter is perfect, and she chose you,” Erin’s father said. –MB “If every wedding promised to be like this one, I’d place an order for rainy day weddings year-round,” says photographer Rachel Thurston. Friends and family penned good wishes. The wedding party dined and mingled in a cozy setting. Guests covered a world map in colorful pins marking their travels. Guests snacked on creative bite-size treats. Unexpected rain showers added a mist of romance.
