The Anointed Apothecarist

Between stints at Capitol Records, Spy and Rolling Stone, Misha Anderson cultivated an L.A. life that was heavy on aesthetics and filled with endless late nights. So she began to develop a plan for a shop that would house the best skin and beauty products without the fluff. After nurturing her first boutique in Williamsburg with her sister Erin, she’s at work on a West 3rd Street outpost in the city that inspired her original idea. Cream of the Crop

Before discovering it, Anderson had never seen anything like Sentara’s All Weather Cream. “It’s thick and watery at the same time,” she says. After applying it once a day, skin stays plump even with a sunburn, windburn or while radiators are running. $65 at woodleyandbunny.com

Pretty Potent

Anderson’s shop is located inside the space formerly home to Brad Hunter’s skincare line, known for its famed biophotonic delivery system. She relies on the instant elasticity produced by BRAD’s Ultra Elastin. $195 at bradskincare.com

Body Balm

“‘Sans,’ which is French for the word ‘without,’ is free of everything. The Activator 7 Body Oil has vitamins A and E plus omega oils.” $70 at woodleyandbunny.Com

Regional Recharge

Anderson orders coffee and the soft-boiled organic farm egg with toasted pain de mie at Joan’s on Third (8350 W. 3rd St., L.A., 323.655.2285, joansonthird. Com). Or she heads to Real Food Daily (414 N. La Cienega Blvd., L.A., 310. 289.9910, realfood.com) for cold soba noodle salad. “You feel healthy just walking by the door.”

Canyon Crawl

“The morning views from Runyon Canyon are spectacular and there is still a feeling of solitude if you go early enough.”

Fountain of Youth

SOPHIE JAFFE: “I drink alkalined water instead of regular water. I fill up a huge jug at a family-run business. It neutralizes acid in your bloodstream, boosts your energy and metabolism, and helps your body absorb nutrients more effectively.” $2.50/gallon at Alka-Pi Westwood, 1252 Westwood Blvd., Westwood, alkapiwestwood.com

Skin Secret

DANI LARSON: “I like to put Artisana coconut oil directly onto my skin at night—even my face. It’s antibacterial, antifungal and extremely moisturizing. Now my skin rarely breaks out.” $15 at artisanafoods.Com

Liquid Gold

INSIDER TIP

“Go for a walk in a park, sit in the grass or go for a hike in Mandeville Canyon. Getting outside for just 15 minutes will give you a natural boost of vitamin D and will release endorphins.”

Greener Pastures

DANI LARSON: “My favorite green juice combo is green apple, spinach, kale, lemon, parsley and ginger—it will alkalize your body, purify your blood, boost your energy and make your skin glow.” The Green Monster, $12 at Erewhon Natural Foods, 7660-B Beverly Blvd., L.A., erewhonmarket.Com

The Ingredient Innovators

Holistic chef Dani Larson and cleanse master Sophie Jale started Zuddha (Sanskrit for pure, simple, cleansed) for locals looking to reboot from the inside out. The 1-year-old company has a personal chef service and does small-scale catering. It also creates juice cleanses, smoothies, soups, teas and tonics with whole foods to help temper diabetes, cancer and nutrient deflciencies. The mostly raw/vegan duo hand-deliver their tasty, plant-based meals and juices to clients, but even they refuse to be good all the time. “You could call us exitarians,” says Larson. Zuddhagirls.com

The Creators

Makeup artist Scott Barnes and hairstylist Frank Galasso, whose combined client lists include Beyoncé, Kate Hudson and Gwen Stefani, recently joined forces—both personally and professionally—to open Barnes & Galasso inside Salon Republic, their private salon/atelier for locals in need of a primp. Guests stare into the Hollywood Hills while hair and makeup looks take shape. “It’s about the experience of turning somebody from normal to phenomenal,” Barnes says. Scottbarnes.com

Lip Read

SCOTT BARNES: “M.A.C lip gloss in Boy Bait—it’s a neutral that’s not too white or too pink, perfect for pulling off a nude lip.” $18.50 at M.A.C Cosmetics, 1325 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, 310.451.1281, maccosmetics.Com

Straight Talk

Tress Tamer

FRANK GALASSO: “The cork handle of Ibiza’s boar-bristle brushes is more comfortable and easier to grip, and the brush itself is longer, so you can pull more hair up and create more volume and body.” Starting at $40 at ibizahair.com

INSIDER TIP

“People burn their hair with at and curling irons, so before you start, wrap the hot plates of your tool in tissue paper, then use them on your hair. It protects hair from breaking, burning and overdrying!”

Sun-kissed

SCOTT BARNES: “I love that Guerlain Terracotta bronzing powders come in eight shades. They’re easy to use and they’re not shimmery, so they work on everyone’s skin. They’re great for contouring without creating any shine.” $49 at Sephora at Westfield Century City, 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Century City, 310. 843.0123, sephora.Com
