W E D D O S SIE R spotlight Simply the Best At CS Brides , a lot of weddings come across our desks—and it’s no small feat selecting our features. Here are three inspired, out-of-the-ordinary, super special celebrations we just had to give top billing. Happy couple Kate and Drew met on a free, three-day trial on match.com! The bride chose a textural San Patrick gown for her wedding look. #1 WHY WE LOVE IT K AT E H U F F & D R E W D E R RIC O S ep te m b e r , Photos by A n th o n y B a r li c h Aside from being an especially handsome couple, it’s obvious Kate and Drew have exquisite taste, too—and that they planned their celebration from the heart. Honeybee Weddings helped with the details (think a avored water station and a cigar patio). THE VENUE To create a “shabby chic” setting, the bride worked with Shambora Studios—an event decorator she met at the Kane County Flea Market. e pair chose Aquaviva Winery in Maple Park for its charming grounds. “ e owner allowed us to get married on his private estate across the street—sold!,” says Kate. THE DETAILS Whimsical touches, like this hand-painted sign directing guests to the festivities, peppered the Maple Park winery. Empty wine bottles were hung above the fl avored water station, each one stuffed with baby’s breath, faux fl owers or feathers. WHY WE LOVE IT

Jesse (an English teacher) proposed to Justine (a neurobiologist) under the T. Rex skeleton at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC. (Second to Jesse, the dino is Justine’s greatest love.) The “sci-curious” couple had fun incorporating their careers—and passions—into the big day.

THE VENUE

The now New Yorkers selected North Pond restaurant in Lincoln Park for its natural setting—and chef Bruce Sherman’s cuisine.

THE DETAILS

Green Mill staple Sabertooth Organ Quartet played doo-wop and jazz, including Otis Redding’s “That’s How Strong My Love Is” for the first dance. –Ashley Greene.
