The deTails The bride wore a Priscilla of Boston Platinum gown and makeup by The Perfect Face to the elegant, lantern-lit ceremony at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He later popped the question—and watched the ring pop out of the box and hit the floor just before she said yes. The DeTaiLS The couple decided on a yellow-and-gray color scheme and an outdoor ceremony at Northgate Country Club. The parTy The couple kicked off the reception with an intimate cocktail party at the nearby Lettieri home. He proposed after they finished a half marathon together, drawing an analogy between the race and marriage. The DeTails The couple exchanged vows at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. The PaRTy Sabrina Patrick of Chic Soirée helped create an “elegant, casual country” atmosphere with Mason jar vases and other farmhouse elements.Texas Pearl Band played pop and country tunes all night, closing with the “Aggie War Hymn.” –KD<br /> <br /> Sarahbenjamin & LT. CharLeS “ COLbY ” SmiTh<br /> <br /> The sTory It was love at first sight when Sarah and Colby met junior year at Second Baptist School— and they’ve been a couple ever since. Shortly after graduating from West Point, the army lieutenant popped the question during a picnic. The DeTails They wanted a tented outdoor ceremony at the bride’s parents’ ranch house in New Ulm. And despite a preceremony downpour, the festivities went off without a hitch. The parTy As the sun went down and the dance floor came to life under a grand chandelier, the sky turned into a swirl of color around the tent. –KD<br /> <br /> Lauraiwai & jonathan abowd<br /> <br /> The sTory Laura and Jonathan met at a part-time college job they shared, and although they no longer work together, he proposed at her place of work— in front of her first-grade class, just before school let out for summer. The deTails The creative couple handled many design elements on their own: The graphic designer groom crafted the vintage letterpress invitations while the bride (and her mother) did the flowers. The ParTy Guests enjoyed a cheery orangeand- wine color scheme, a Chopin Mon Ami meal, tunes by DJ’s of Texas and an array of artistic details, including chic, handmade centerpieces of paper flowers and curly branches. –KD<br /> <br /> Kristintidden & Christian JaCKson<br /> <br /> The ParTy Kristin and Christian met in 2006, while working together at Taste of Texas. It was just a few years later when she received a curious text message with a photo of a ring. Christian was on bended knee, completely surprising her. The DeTailS The couple made it a family affair, holding the ceremony on the landing outside the airplane hangar at the bride’s family home in Brookshire. The bride’s three brothers stood beside her. The ParTy Guests enjoyed a steak and chicken dinner and music by Premium Sound inside the hangar, decked with mini planes and rose petals. –HC<br /> <br /> Lindsey Martin & Mat thew Jones<br /> <br /> The ParTy Lindsey and Matthew met at church in the small East Texas town of Joaquin and became soul mates at age 8. The DeTaiLS After a formal ceremony at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, guests hopped a Jordan Limousines trolley to the nearby reception. The ParTy Belle of the Ball’s Natalie Narula Laskowski helped create an elegant atmosphere with accents of gold and robin’s egg blue. Guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts and lively dancing after dinner. In lieu of traditional favors, the couple made a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in honor of the bride’s cousin. –KD<br /> <br /> Laurarodriguez & Mark MeitzLer<br /> <br /> The stoRy Laura and Mark brewed a friendship as strong as the coffee while working at Starbucks. The rest is history. The details The fun-loving couple had everyone in the wedding party walk the aisle with a big balloon. The groom and his groomsmen donned Toms and suspenders, and all grew mustaches for the occasion. After the vows, guests launched well-wishing lanterns. The paRty With details masterminded by Claudia G. de Velasco of A Day to Remember, the whimsical reception featured a Merida Mexican feast and dancing—and fake mustache favors. –HC
