Last year, he founded InstantDC (instantdc.com) to provide a platform for area mobile-phone artists to earn the recognition he thinks they deserve. “Curators are going to play a huge role in the new realm of art-snacking Tumblr culture,” Campbell says. “InstantDC fulfills this role while giving exposure to local residents and visitors alike.” In February, he’ll collaborate with FotoDC’s Theo Adamstein to present a cultural exchange between Australian mobile photographers Misho Baranovic and Oliver Lang, and DC’s Greg Schmigel and Jim Darling at the Embassy of Australia, a continent Campbell sees leading the trend. 4. Alice (In Wonderland) “The Washington Ballet’s” world premiere (April 11-15, washingtonballet.org) puts an over-the-top twist on Lewis Carroll’s fantasy.
